BIOGRAPHY
As an accomplished singer, songwriter, and producer, CODĒ! has crafted a distinctive fusion of top-tier Soul and contemporary R&B music. Hailing from the heart of southern Arkansas, CODĒ!, originally known as Cody Jefferson, embarked on his musical journey in the hallowed halls of the church, harmonizing with his mother and grandmother. At the tender age of 8, he embarked on his songwriting and recording odyssey, culminating in the release of his inaugural collection of Gospel recordings.
Remarkably, at just 10 years old, CODĒ! began his ascent to stardom by clinching multiple talent show victories and gracing stages with his mesmerizing performances. His breakthrough arrived at the age of 18, following an impressive talent show triumph that led to a coveted opening act role for Country music luminaries Easton Corbin and Logan Mize.
CODĒ! draws inspiration from iconic figures like Al Green, Bee Gees, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, and Stevie Wonder, honing his talents to craft a sound that is uniquely soulful. After what he humorously refers to as "two decades of rigorous rehearsal," CODĒ! took the monumental step of launching his own record label, UNDERESTIM8TED PRODUCTIONS.
In collaboration with the Arkansas-based producer Dondrae Vinson, known as "FEROCIOUS" of FEROCIOUS PRODUCTIONS, CODĒ! unveiled his debut R&B album, "MORE THAN I KNEW," in 2021. The release met with resounding success, earning CODĒ! the prestigious title of 2021 Male R&B Vocalist of the Year at the Arklatex Honor Awards. This triumph only fueled his creative fire, prompting him to embark on his sophomore R&B album, "The Sides Of Love," released in 2023. Furthermore, CODĒ! booked and sold out a popular venue in Little Rock, Arkansas and released a live recording and film of the concert in 2024. His music continues to resonate with fans as he effortlessly blends soul and contemporary R&B.
